The accountants’ exemption, being Regulation 7.1.29A of the Corporations Regulations 2001, has been repealed since 1 July 2016.
Since then, only accountants with at least a limited AFSL licence may:
– assist a client in establishment of an SMSF
– assist a client to wind up their existing SMSF
– make recommendations in relation to a client’s existing superannuation funds
– provide advice to clients on superannuation contributions & pensions
